Inclusion & Exclusion
- Anita and Manu speak English/Italian/Portuguese/Hindi and will stay and assist the group throughout the whole trip.
- All transport mentioned in the itinerary including airport transfers on the first and last day (cab to Trivandrum or train to Cochin) of the tour.
- A/C Tempo minibus for 12 pax with expert driver for the entire duration of the tour, houseboat in Alleppey's backwaters.
- Accommodation for all nights in a twin/double rooms in 3 to 4 star hotels all with swimming pool.
- Daily breakfast at all hotels (some buffet and some à la carte).
- Most dinners and all meals on the houseboat.
- Bottled water throughout.
- Monument entrances as per the visits mentioned in the program, which are many.
- Anita's special workshops on Indian spices, special preparation of vegetarian/vegan dishes, Ayurveda benefits of spices.

Arrival Cochin - Hotel in Fort Cochin
You will be picked up from Cochin Airport / Ernakulam railway station and taken to the hotel in Fort Cochin.
Arrival Cochin and sightseeing. Spend the afternoon with local sightseeing in and around the famous Fort Cochin, the Queen of Arabian Sea, this is one of the finest natural harbors in the World and was one of the major centers for commerce and trade with British, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, etc. Places to visit: Jewish Synagogue, also known as Pardesi Synagogue, is the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations. Just outside the Jewish Synagogue is the famous Jew Town, where small shops and stalls are put up that sell Indian and Chinese antiques The St Francis Church, where the famous Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gamas body was initially buried, is yet another significant tourist hotspot in Kochi well known for its beautiful architecture and ambience; it is one of the oldest churches built by the Europeans. Dutch palace, which is also known as Mattanchery Palace, though built by the Portuguese, it is a perfect example of Kerala style architecture.
Santa Cruz Basilica is one of the finest and most impressive basilicas in Kerala. Built and named after the Portuguese Santa Cruz, the church is open to visitors.
Bazaar Road where the smell of pepper and ginger is so strong in the air. You will get the chance to spice shopping with Anita's precious suggestions.
Also get the best view of the Chinese Fishing Nets from the Vasco da Gama Square. Enjoy the city lights and the backwaters of Kochi in Marine Drive that stretches along 3.6 km. Kochi is also home to every shopaholics heaven: artifacts, wooden statues, fabrics, precious clothes, sarees etc.
Cochin - Munnar
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Munnar (04 Hrs drive). Munnar, situated 1600 Meter above sea level at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale. This majestic hill station was once the summer resort of the British government in South India. On the way enjoy some waterfalls and natural scenic spots. On arrival at Munnar check into Hotel. The Tea Museum displays the history and evolution of the tea plantations in Munnar. If you are a flora lover, pay a visit to the Floriculture Centre Munnar. Commonly known as Rose Garden, it has over hundred varieties of flowers and herbal plants.
Munnar Sightseeing
After breakfast spend the day with local sightseeing. The Eravikulam National Park in Munnar is one of the five national parks in Kerala, with rich flora and fauna, which is home to the famous Nilgiri Thar. The park closes at 4 pm. The Mattupetty Dam / Lake is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Munnar, surrounded by lush green forest. The Kundala Lake / Dam is one of the most picturesque locations in Munnar.

Munnar - Thekkady
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady (04 Hrs Drive), on arrival check into the hotel. Relax rest of the day or visit one spice plantation in evening with Anita's supervision. Overnight stay is at Thekkady.
Thekkady sightseeing
After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing tour of Thekkady. The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - declared a Tiger Reserve in 1978 is one of the world's most fascinating wild life reserves stretching to a total of 777sq km of which 360 km is thick ever green forest. Allows visitors from 6 am to 6 pm, entry fees Rs.450/- per foreigner adult. Boating at the Periyar lake is an activity much sought by tourists who visit Thekkady because wild animals can be spotted during the session. Costs Rs.225/- per person. Visit the Spice Plantation in Thekkady, stroll around the captivating farm and discover various spices in different sections of the plantation. If time permits witness the amazing work of art of Kathakali, one of the major classical dance forms of Kerala. Most sought Elephant Ride around the wilderness, but we discourage strongly the exploitation of animal activities. Overnight stay is arranged in Thekkady.
Thekkady - Alleppey
After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey (04 Hrs). Set out on an enchanting overnight backwater cruise in traditionally decorated houseboats. Check in time is 01:00 PM and cruise starts with lunch. While cruising, let your eyes settle for the bowed-down paddy fields, local inhabitants, rustic homes, ancient churches / temples and swaying coconut groves. Food will be served on-board. Anita's workshop will take place on board. Overnight stay in the houseboat.
Alleppey – Jatayu - Varkala
After a refreshing breakfast on the houseboat and drive to Varkala. En-route visit to Jatayu Park with its world's largest bird sculpture[200 meter diversion from MC Road. . Visit includes Cable Car ride - up & down, Jaytayu Sculpture visit, Ram Temple visit, Jatayu Beak Mark, Rama foot print visit etc.; on arrival in Varkala check-in into hotel. Enjoy the evening watching a spectacular sunset or swimming at the picturesque Varkala Beach. Overnight is to be spent at hotel.
Varkala
Sightseeing in Varkala is the perfect place for a holiday getaway to enjoy golden beaches and is also rich with history. Places to visit: The Janardhanaswamy Temple, also known as Varkala Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu built 20 centuries ago. The significant feature of the temple is the huge old bell which is considered an oblation to the temple. The Papanasam Beach, also known as Varkala Beach, is one of the best beaches in Kerala because of the view it offers from the cliff top. Like its name suggests, its water has medicinal properties and is believed to wash off one's impurities and sins. Enjoy the day at the beach, relax and enjoy the last sunset over the Arabian Sea, a real treat to the eye.
Evening free for an Ayurveda consultation and massage.
Varkala - Trivandrum or Cochin Airport transfers
Wrapping up of the tour and final salutations and group photos.
Departure straight after breakfast check out from the hotel. You will be dropped at Trivandrum airport / railway station for your flight / train back home, feeling contented about a wonderful holiday you spent with The Travel Souls.
We kindly suggest our guests to ideally book an arrival flight to Cochin and the return one from Trivandrum, which is only 1 hour 20 minutes drive from Varkala.
